Phoenix Releases Title Track From New Album “Ti Amo” (And The Crowd Goes Wild!)

The four fabulous Frenchmen of Phoenix gave us a lil prezzy today in the form of the title track from their new album “Ti Amo” due out next month! This is the second song they’ve released from the album, following the first release “J-BOY”. I’m biased here because Phoenix is my favorite band but both of these songs are blowing my mind. Out of the two “Ti Amo” has my heart with its dancey beat and the lyrics, trés sexy! Open your legs..I mean EARS ;p and listen to the song below and get excited because we will have that glorious album in our hands in just four weeks! And while you’re waiting head here to pre-order it! Woo!

Phoenix Is Finally Back With New Single And An Upcoming Album Release!

In case you didn’t know, I am a HUGE fan of the french foursome Phoenix. They’re music is fun, they’re nice people, AND their live performances have yet to be topped (in my humble opinion).

Recently Phoenix has come out of hiding for the first time since their 2013 release “Bankrupt!” which was amazing by the way. Their upcoming album, Ti Amo which was recorded in 2014 right after Bankrupt! In an interview with The New York Times guitarist Laurent Brancowitz described the new album’s vibe to be “summer and Italian discos.” Sounds good to me!!

J-Boy is the first release from Ti Amo which is out June 9th. This single is so good you guys! Classic Phoenix sound but with a new twist. I’m officially on cloud nine (listening to J-Boy on repeat) until further notice. ✌🏻💜🎵

Phoenix Announce World Tour and Everyone Everywhere is Jumping Up and Down

You know, Mondays aren’t as bad as they say. ESPECIALLY this one, and I will tell you why. This morning, my personal favorite group of lovely French men (Phoenix) announced a whole bunch of tour dates via this photo posted to their social media accounts. Whitney, The Lemon Twigs, and Miike Snow will be joining them on tour.

Not only did they announce the tour but it just so happens to be starting in FLORIDA..where Indie Music Heartbeat resides! Specifically the House of Blues where I saw them perform a few years ago. I have said this before and I will say it again, their live performances are like no other. They always play way more songs than you think they will and.. Continue reading

NYC’s Governors Ball 2017 Lineup Announced, featuring Phoenix and More…

Let’s just call today like it is, Day Two of Amazing Lineup Announcements. Today The Governors Ball Music Festival announced their 2017 lineup and you guys..it’s really good! This is really making me hopeful for continuous great lineup announcements in the future! The festival is held in Randall’s Park from June 2-4 in New York City. What is the biggest OMG HOW COULD I MISS THIS artist of the lineup you ask? Mothereffin PHOENIX!!!! Yep..Phoenix, I said it. I adore Phoenix and those lovely frenchies have been in hiding pretty much since their 2013 album Bankrupt and the tour that followed it’s release (in which I saw them three times). They recently have popped up in a few other festival lineups, Governors Ball being the first in the US. This can only mean new music is on it way, please excuse me while I scream in delight.

“INITIALS P.H.O.E.N.I.X.” Mini-Documentary, Part One & Two

tumblr_n5zeogFJAP1so7zgwo1_1280

If you didn’t already know, out of all the bands that fallen in and out of love with (there’s been many)…Phoenix has been a constant. And recently the French quartet has made a multipart documentary film directed by Guillaume Delaperrière. The film follows the band into the Motorbass Studio in Paris (during the making of their latest album “Bankrupt”).

So far they have released the first 2 parts of the film and they are amazing. I’ve definitely thought to myself before “what I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall in that studio” and I guess they heard me guys because that is what this film is!

IMHB’s Best of 2013/Favorites/Happy New Years (EVE)

You guys! It’s almost 2014! I really feel 2013 was a great year for indie music. A lot of great bands put out new music (Phoenix!, Lorde,Pacific Air). I grew into liking some bands that I didn’t necessarily like before this year (The National, Cults, Young The Giant, Arcade Fire..still no hope for Mumford & Sons YUCK!). There was also a lot of really amazing bands/artists that made it to the spotlight (Lorde, Haim, Chvrches, The Royal Concepts, New Politics). Of course I made a playlist for my 2013 favorites (what kind of music blogger would I be if I didn’t?!). A handful of the tracks on the playlist really stuck out for me this, basically meaning that I may or may night have been so excited at first listen that I teared up and put the song on repeat for that entire week. I also had a bunch of favorites as in favorite song I heard on TV, favorite live show I saw, favorite album, etc. so here those are:
