Phoenix Releases Title Track From New Album “Ti Amo” (And The Crowd Goes Wild!)

The four fabulous Frenchmen of Phoenix gave us a lil prezzy today in the form of the title track from their new album “Ti Amo” due out next month! This is the second song they’ve released from the album, following the first release “J-BOY”. I’m biased here because Phoenix is my favorite band but both of these songs are blowing my mind. Out of the two “Ti Amo” has my heart with its dancey beat and the lyrics, trés sexy! Open your legs..I mean EARS ;p and listen to the song below and get excited because we will have that glorious album in our hands in just four weeks! And while you’re waiting head here to pre-order it! Woo!

Foster The People Share Three New Songs From Upcoming Album

“One of my favorite things about music is that it’s unifying. We wrote these songs to reflect joy in a time where people have needed it more than ever and we thought it was a good time to share them with you” said Mark foster, frontman for the band Foster The People. I couldn’t agree more Mark! Yesterday the band shared not one but THREE new songs called “Doing It For The Money”, “S.H.C.”, and “Pay The Man” from their anticipated third record due out this summer. This album is following 2014’s Supermodel, which was incredible. Also on the books is a North American Tour which begins May 26th in San Diego. Click here to see a complete list of their tour dates. Listen to the new songs below and try to catch them on tour! Happy listening music fam! ✌🏻💜🎵

Phoenix Is Finally Back With New Single And An Upcoming Album Release!

In case you didn’t know, I am a HUGE fan of the french foursome Phoenix. They’re music is fun, they’re nice people, AND their live performances have yet to be topped (in my humble opinion).

Recently Phoenix has come out of hiding for the first time since their 2013 release “Bankrupt!” which was amazing by the way. Their upcoming album, Ti Amo which was recorded in 2014 right after Bankrupt! In an interview with The New York Times guitarist Laurent Brancowitz described the new album’s vibe to be “summer and Italian discos.” Sounds good to me!!

J-Boy is the first release from Ti Amo which is out June 9th. This single is so good you guys! Classic Phoenix sound but with a new twist. I’m officially on cloud nine (listening to J-Boy on repeat) until further notice. ✌🏻💜🎵

Gorillaz Release New Anti-Donald Trump Single “Hallelujah Money”

New music today!! Gorillaz released a new track from their upcoming studio album that is due out sometime this year. They haven’t released an album since 2011’s The Fall. It seems they shared it specifically before Inauguration Day as an underlying message to us as we get ready to enter into Trump’s horribly dark and oppressed America. In an interview the bands virtual guitarist Murdoc said “In these dark times, we all need someone to look up to. Me. That’s why I’m giving you this new Gorillaz song..”. It was also pointed out that the video for the track takes place in a warped version of Trump Hotel. Interesting right? I’m not sure how I feel about the song itself but I love the message and I’m excited to hear the rest of the album when it drops. You can read the lyrics below

Phantogram’s New Album ‘Three’ is OUT NOW!

album.jpg

Today is the day everyone! Phantogram are back with new music after a year of making music and touring with Outkast’s Big Boi in their side-project Big Grams. Today the electro-pop duo released their third studio album appropriately named ‘Three’. As exciting as it is to get new music from one of our favorite bands, this album came from a sad place.

Earlier this year vocalist Sarah Barthel’s sister Becky passed away tragically and although band-mate Carter is not related to Barthel, having been friends for most of their life they both feel as though they’ve lost a sister. In interviews Sarah has said that this record “is about heartbreak” and that “the overall message is about how tragic life can be at times—how the world can bring you down… But you have to try to find the beauty in it sometimes.”. This brings to mind the theme of my favorite film ‘American Beauty’ which is that we want to be angry about the bad things that happen to us but it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sidenote: I will take any chance I get to talk about American Beauty (sorry not sorry). Back to Phantogram…

Death Cab for Cutie: Kintsugi Album Out Now

death-cab-for-cutie-kintsugiNow here is a moment I can say I have been waiting for since the very day I heard word that one of my favorite bands, Death Cab For Cutie, would be working on their next studio album which would be the last with founding member Christopher Walla who parted ways with the band following the completion of the album. Frontman Benjamin Gibbard said that because of Walla’s departure as a band member AND producer, the making of the album, titled Kintsugi, was a new but exciting experience. The band ultimately decided to hire Rich Costey to produce the Kintsugi. Costey has worked with bands such as Muse, Foster the People, Phantogram, and many more.

Death Cab started working on the record back in the summer of 2013 with Chris Walla originally producing it until he made the decision that he wasn’t the right guy for the job. Chris did end up playing on the record and the band are all in agreeance that his decision to leave was the right thing to do. Gibbard has said in many interviews that he and the band knew for some time that Walla was planning to leave and that even though it was sad to say goodbye to Chris they were all excited for this new chapter.

Bass player Nick Harmer chose the name for their latest album. Kintsugi (the albums’ title) is a japanese technique of repairing broken ceramics using gold in the resin that reforms the object. The idea being that with the gold, you highlight the breakages in it , and make something new and beautiful out of something that’s broken.  It’s the perfect name for this album that celebrates the end of the bands’ chapter with Walla and the piecing together of the other three members and the new music they will create together.

In the past couple of days I have read some reviews but multiple music websites I follow and it seems like no one is really that impressed with this album. This is just crazy to me. Death Cab is Death Cab and if they put out any new music I am going to love it! You can stream the Kintsugi on Spotify now. I’ll be streaming and dancing and singing and waiting for my Vinyl copy to come in the mail (buy your copy here)! Enjoy you guys, I know I am!
