Coachella 2017 Lineup Announced, Tickets On Sale Tomorrow 1/4/17

Earlier today Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced their 2017 lineup for both weekends which will be April 14-16 and April 21-23 and..it’s REALLY good you guys! The festival FOMO will be strong this year with this one. Are you going? Who are you most excited to see? If I were to go I would be most excited about: Radiohead, Glass Animals, Beyonce, Phantogram (obviously), Galantis, Kaytranada, What So Not, Jai Wolf, Marshmello, Real Estate, Big Gigantic, Royksopp, Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller, Banks, Jagwar Ma, Grouplove, Mac Demarco, and a lot more (so basically thew whole damn lineup!). I’m actually a little surprised to not see Flume on the list since he seems to be scheduled for quite a few festivals earlier in the year. Hmm perhaps he will be a late addition? Tickets will be going on sale tomorrow (Wednesday, January 4th, 2017) at 11:00AM PST. Click here for more information. Let me know your thoughts and check out the full lineup below!

Phantogram and Big Boi Join Forces to Create New Group Big Grams

Big-Boi-Phantogram-Big-GramsIt feels like it’s been AGES since‎ Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter (aka Phantogram) started teasing that they were working on something with Outkast rapper Big Boi on Instagram in the way of very promising photos with not much to the captions other than “in the works” and “coming soon” (not soon enough Sarah and Josh, not soon enough). Pure torture is what those pictures were. Not only do I love every piece of music Phantogram has delivered to my eardrums, but then there’s Outkast. Oh Outkast, a very important piece of the puzzle that is the soundtrack to my youth..you feel me? (Of course you do).

Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Flea to Write a Memoir = WOO HOO!

fleabook

I love to read. Aside from YA Dystopian, Rock and Roll Autobiographies are my favorite genre to read. My favorite book I have ever read from ANY genre is “Scar Tissue” by Anthony Keidis which chronicles the insanity of the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s front man. Even if you don’t like the Red Hot Chili Peppers you will love this book! Unless sex drugs and roll bother you…if that’s the case you may not want to pick it up. Anyways the point I am getting to is Scar Tissue was filled with the most crazy stories, adventures and so much trouble that Anthony Keidis got into along with his band mates. One of which Michael Balzary aka FLEA, has recently decided to write his very own memoir which will be released via Grand Central Publishing! This means that we will get a chance to relive these adventures from a different perspective and also discover new ones. If you’ve read Scar Tissue before then you know there is a fair share of drug abuse that seemed to follow these guys around, this is something Flea will be writing about along with his experiences in philanthropy and acting as well. Scar Tissue really helped me to fall in love with RHCP’s music so much more, knowing where the music came from and what inspried it. I think this memoir will certainly fuel that flame of RHCP love I’ve got burning even more and hopefully it’ll do the same for you! Here is an excerpt from the press release regarding Flea’s memoir that he will be writing all by himself (go Flea!)… Continue reading

Coldplay’s Chris Martin to be on The Voice

1395184339000-Shakira-Chris-Martin

look at how cute he is!

I’ve never been a fan of shows like the Voice, American Idol, X Factor, etc. I feel this way for many reasons: complete lack of indie music (booo), my personal fear of rejection (I get way too nervous for the singers), my idea of talent clearly doesn’t match the judges lol.

I can say however that if I had to pick one of these shows to watch it would be the Voice, and what better reason to start watching than Chris Martin, my favorite front man! According to USA Today Martin will be an adviser for all four of the coaches teams during the battles March 31 he will also be on the show on April 1 and 7. Will you be tuning in? I know I will, just to hear a bit of Chris Martin’s VOICE…haha voice get it? I am so funny!

in case you felt like drooling tonight:
