Plot: When a pair of star-crossed lovers are forced apart by fate it’s up to them to right the future. As they fall deeper in love, they experience visions of a deadly future – those around them are doomed to die. Within days their premonitions become reality as their friends start dying around them. As the visions intensify, it becomes clear that the next people to die will be them. The couple has to choose between remaining together and hurting those around them, or staying apart forever.
Plot: Paper Man is an inspirational comedic drama about an unlikely friendship between Richard(Jeff Daniels), a failed middle-aged novelist who has never quite grown up and Abby (Emma Stone), a 17-year-old girl whose role in a family tragedy years earlier has stolen away her youth. Both are unsure, both are afraid to take firm steps forward, and both are looking for that special friend—that connection—to help guide them into the future. Since his childhood, Richard has mostly relied on the imaginary one that resides in his head—a costumed superhero known as Captain Excellent (Ryan Reynolds).
This is one of my most favorite movies, I watch it often! The cast is incredible and for all of you OC fans out there you will see someone you recognize!!
Plot (Rotten Tomatoes):
A shocking and tragic event causes the members of a quietly dysfunctional family to reexamine themselves and their lives in this drama. Ben and Sandy Travis (Jeff Daniels and Sigourney Weaver) are a couple whose troubled family begins to crumble when their eldest son, star college athlete Matt (Kip Pardue) commits suicide. Sandy’s naturally cynical nature becomes all the more prickly, and while she tries to bond with her surviving teenaged son, Tim (Emile Hirsch), they seem closest when they discover a shared fondness for marijuana. Ben also tries to reach out to Tim, but the young man is never able to shake the feeling that he’s never quite been the son his father wanted. Tim has a girlfriend, Steph (Suzanne Santo), but their relationship has been going through a rocky patch, and Tim finds himself questioning his feelings about women and men when his friendship with next-door neighbor Kyle (Ryan Donowho) evolves into something more intimate.
For all of you who like weird, deep, independent films like me, I am going to start doing an “Indie Movie of the Week” to share all of the indie movies that I think are worth watching (sometimes with a review..sometimes without)! Hopefully you guys will have some suggestions for me as well as I am ALWAYS looking for new quirky movies to watch!!
