Yay yay yay yay YAY! Wow sorry guys, I had to get that out of my system. If you’ve followed this blog for a bit you might have noticed I have a little thing for Lollapalooza (music festival)…and by little thing I really mean large scale obsession.
On to more exciting news, one of my favorite music sites Sound of Consequence reported today that there has been major talk surrounding the line-up for Lolla which is still pretty far off from being officially announced. The Chicago Tribune said that (not to be named) “industry sources” confirmed that Eminem (meh), Kings of Leon (meh), Arctic Monkeys (YES x 1,000) and Skrillex (-_-) would be playing the festival. All I have to say is since earlier this year when I missed 2 Arctic Monkey shows that were in FL I was hoping and praying that they’d be at Lolla so i could see them perform their AMAZING new album before their tour ends…so I am hoping that this report from the Chicago Tribune is very very TRUE! Other possible acts include Lykke Li, CHVRCHES, Chromeo, and Broken Bells. Also earlier this month Foster the Poeple kinda sorta leaked a pic on Twitter that said they would be playing Lolla!
Let me just take a second away from this news to simply state if I could have anyone play Lolla this year my top choices would be: Phoenix (yes, again), Metric (yes, again), Death Cab (in my sweet dreams), Phantogram (DUH), Sufjan Stevens (Come on Illinois), and Urban Cone (new but amazing). Fingers crossed!
This years Lollapalooza will be held in MY favorite city, Chicago (Grant Park to be exact) starting Friday August 1st and going until Sunday August 3rd (I just HATE when it ends!). Word is that the producers of the festival will announce the full line-up next week. If you’re a lolla-goer you know as well as I do that Early Bird tickets have not gone on sale yet, which are the tickets you buy BEFORE the lineup is revealed (making them a bit cheaper). My point is..how are they going to announce the lineup if they haven’t even started selling early bird tickets yet? Hmm curiouser and curiouser. Either way those tickets are MINE!
I will be sure to keep you on any Lolla news that surfaces, and soon enough it will be time to head to Chi Town to party with the crazy music lovers (136 days to be exact, but who’s counting..)
