My name Is Jenna. I am a VERY passionate person. I love literature, sweater weather, chai tea, going to the movies…but mostly, I love music. I particularly love Indie. It’s always been important to me to introduce all different kinds of people to new music that I find worth sharing.

With that said I will tell you a little bit more about myself. I come from a very small town in Michigan called..(drum roll please)…South Haven. Not many people have ever heard of such a place…probably because to see it on a map you need a couple magnifying glasses. I feel very fortunate to have been able to grow up in such an awesome town! The only downside is it’s the type of town where everyone knows your business, and personally I grew up very sheltered, with pretty much NO musical taste at all whatsoever and it really didn’t mean much to me when I was younger.

South Haven VVV

When I entered into middle school, I, like everyone else was really into music that was mainstream (Ex:Brittney Spears, Christina Aguilera), pretty much whatever was popular at the time. In 2003 I got really into a show called “The O.C.” (yes that teen soap opera you either watched or made fun of). Say what you will but that show changed my life and more importantly my taste in music. It was all thanks to the very talented Music Supervisor of the show,  Alexandra Patsavas. Alexandra brought all of this quirky, cool music to my attention…bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Rooney, Bright Eyes, Spoon, The Dandy Warhols, Radiohead, and so many more bands that are now very big (thanks to Alexandra if you ask me). I started to get into all these bands and after every episode I went immediately to the website to see what songs had played that night. That’s when I became obsessed with searching for music…for example, I would hear 2 seconds of a song on some random commercial and I HAD to find out what it was and who sang it. Alexandra Patsavas brought to my attention the MAGICAL world of Indie music!

Halfway through my Junior Year of high school my mom decided that she HAD to move somewhere warmer, specifically Fort Myers FL. I REALLY didn’t want to leave all of my childhood friends and my hometown behind, but I went anyways. It was really hard for the first couple of years but I ended up meeting a lot of really cool people and developing great friendships. I still can’t stand the weather though…WAY too hot!
I currently work part-time for a media and entertainment company which I love because I get to do something different every day and I also get to learn new things! I love kids more than anything, I am constantly babysitting and love every minute of it! I decided a little over a year ago that I want to go back to school for early childhood education! I couldn’t be more excited about it! It’s also in my plans to relocate to my most favorite city ever, Chicago! I go there every year for Lollapalooza and every time I go I fall in love with the city all over again! So for now I am working a lot, sharing music with you guys, and planning to head back to school soon. Wish me luck! <3
So that’s me in a nutshell…a 5 paragraph nutshell =p, how very nice to meet you =) and thank you SO much for checking out my blog! <3

  1. Hey Jenna, cool blog, I like it. I spotted a tiny typo in the middle of the third paragraph and, on balance, I thought you’d like to know… “and so many more bands that are no very big….”
now rather than no, see it? Anyway, hope that’s not too annoying, I teach as well as write and blog, and it’s a bad habit teachers have ! But very nice blog, I like the look, and the whole thing really. Keep up the good work.

  2. Hi Jenna, great blog. Love your love for music!
